tania rose: Journal

I always loved that title by Crowded House. It makes me think of constancy, the ever-present cycle, and what goes around comes around.
So on my birthday, that ever cyclic event, which seems to often pass virtually unnoticed in my life, except to a few of those who are close in my life (and the odd generous fan)...i thought it fitting to express how simply magical the cycles of life are. The ebb and flow of a watery existence is perhaps easily seen by those with the sign of the fish swimming in two different directions. I don't know. perhaps its something we all seek, but i feel a strange and familiar comfort in the rhythm of it all. It suits me...and if i can harness it in my own expressive nature, perhaps i could express myself more in the world.
who knows.

So happy birthday to all Pisceans. May your waters be ever warm, and your oceans be clean and majestic, at every turn.

I've been blessed by opportunities throughout my career, sometimes for projects, but more often to do with people. You see I'm rather fond of people, so much so that it's they who inspire my work, not so much beautiful sunsets and picturesque scenery. To me, it's all about the human experience.

So when i make connections with people, i take notice. And when those connections lead to opportunities to create and share a journey, it becomes an important part of my own growth, which in turn validates my artistic output.

It's pretty rare for me to make deep creative connections that i feel reach beyond my own capacity to understand, so i take them as being very precious. I value them in a way that's very different from my own personal value of my creativity, for these things are extensions outside of myself that then lead on to more in a self perpetuating cycle of the shared experience, the purpose, one could argue, to life itself.

The 8th album for Tania Rose has been released WHISPERS & WISHES, just in time for xmas 09.

In production currently are several projects, including a new meditation record ECLIPSE, and AQUASPHERE.

Tania Rose is teaming up with Muscularteeth in a triphop album to be released sometime in 2010. Expect something very different.

The second CORAL SEA DREAMING film (this one of the hi-def variety) makes it's way into stores very soon. Extraordinary footage by Emmy award-winning undersea cinematographer, David Hannan (music by Tania Rose), in a film which not only shows the magnificence of the reefs in the coral sea, but also pays tribute to a dying wilderness on the brink of extinction.
